Set up IPTV on Android TV with Smartify

This guide explains how to add your existing IPTV subscription to Smartify IPTV Player on Android TV. Installing the player does not create or activate an IPTV subscription.

Before setting up Android TV

Use an Android TV device with access to Google Play, an internet connection and your IPTV server URL, username and password. A television running a different operating system needs the appropriate guide for that device.

Keep the three types of account details separate

  • Smartify account: the account you create or sign in to inside the player.
  • FOV dashboard account: your login for managing the subscription. These are not automatically the same as your playlist credentials.
  • Xtream Codes details: the IPTV server URL, username and password supplied for the playlist. Enter these in the playlist fields, not your Smartify or dashboard login.

Install the player on the TV

Open Google Play on the TV and find Smartify IPTV Player using the official listing below. Check whether the app is available for your device before continuing.

Add your IPTV playlist

  1. Open Smartify and sign in. If you do not yet have a Smartify account, use the registration option in the app.
  2. Find the Xtream Codes details for your active IPTV subscription in your FOV dashboard. Keep them private.
  3. In the playlist section of the player, add a playlist using the Xtream Codes option and enter the server URL, username and password.
  4. Copy the details exactly. Keep the supplied http or https scheme and port, and remove any accidental spaces when typing with the TV remote.
  5. Save the playlist and wait for the import to finish. Then open the channel list and select a channel to check playback.

Open the FOV dashboard

If the playlist does not load

First confirm that the TV can reach the internet. Recheck the playlist credentials and subscription status in the dashboard before changing any settings.

A successful Smartify sign-in does not confirm that the IPTV credentials are correct. The player account and the playlist are checked separately.

If channels load but playback fails, check the active connection limit for your subscription and test another channel. Do not assume that a guide-data issue is a login problem.

If the programme guide is missing

EPG data is separate from the channel list. Check whether your playlist includes a programme guide and whether its update has completed before replacing working login details.
